Takao San (MT. Takao)

One of my favorite desinations... this time I went with Mark Gerhardt and his mum, along with about a zillion school kids, who seemed to have all scheduled the same day for an outing.

Byakue Kannon

White-Robed Kannon in Ofuna, Japan. Height = 29.39 meters. Started in 1934, the outbreak of WWII halted its construction. It was completed after the war in 1961. The complex contains stones from ground zero at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, commemorating those who died in the atomic bomb attacks.
